Postpartum Doula
Birth you could do alone, but the postpartum mother NEEDS sisterhood and nurturing support…
Postpartum support is greatly overlooked in our society where the nuclear family and fierce independence is coveted. Much of the narrative fed to us involves preparing new parents for zero sleep and poop on everything. Our postpartum can be a time of peaceful integration, healing and bonding if we feel safe, nourished, and supported. The “4th trimester” is a valid concept- you and your baby are still one- motherbaby. Postpartum integration takes much longer than a few months, in my opinion it’s a minimum of 2 years.
And did you know that with safe co-sleeping, a healthy breastfeeding journey, and by practicing elimination communication, that you can feel much more rested and potentially avoid poopy diapers?!
My role as a postpartum doula is incredibly fluid, as every family will have different needs. My goal is to seamlessly fill the gaps where you feel energetically stretched too thin. Here are just some examples of ways I can help bring ease to your postpartum experience:
Prepping nourishing meals for that day or to fill your freezer
Birth story integration
Breastfeeding assistance
Safe co-sleeping support
Cloth diapering tips and tricks
Elimination Communication (EC)
Baby wearing instruction
Guidance for using herbs safely
Child care for older siblings
Laundry and house cleaning
Grocery shopping
Dog walking
And More!
